LOAN  |  $1,535,000 |  274kW

This 100-year old boarding school in southern California is committed to sustainability. Solar helped them meet their goals—and reduced their electricity bill by 96%. The 274kW ground mount system was installed on a steep hillside which bumped up the installation cost and, as a non-profit, solar tax benefits were not available. Belvedere structured a 7-year loan with a down payment that kept cash flow positive over the financing term and will generate almost $1 million in cash flow over the life of the system.

Solar energy can be a huge help to schools facing tight budgets, but the benefits don’t end there. Many private schools include environmental responsibility in their mission statements and an on-site solar system can be a valuable tool in classrooms ranging from ecology to physics.
